Logistics Specialist

As the Routing & Logistics Specialist, reporting to the Director, Operations, you will play a key role in ensuring that customer orders are shipped accurately, on time, and in full compliance with each retailer's routing and shipping requirements. In this position, you will support TKG's wholesale operations by coordinating all routing activities, managing EDI transactions, and maintaining communication between internal departments, distribution partners, and retail customers such as Kohl's, Walmart, and other major retailers.
Some of What You'll Do:
Understand and Apply Retailer Routing Requirements
Review and maintain up-to-date knowledge of each customer's Vendor Routing Guide and compliance manual.
- Ensure all shipments meet customer-specific requirements, including:
Communicate changes in routing requirements to warehouse, logistics, and customer service teams.
Coordinate Order Readiness
Verify that all orders are picked, packed, labeled, and palletized according to retailer specifications.
- Ensure that order data is accurate and complete prior to routing.
Transmit and verify required EDI documents, including 850s (POs), 856s (ASNs), 810s (Invoices), and 753/754s (Routing Requests/Instructions).
Manage Routing Requests and Approvals
Submit routing requests to retail customers through vendor portals or via EDI (typically EDI 753).
- Monitor and follow up on routing approvals (EDI 754) to ensure shipments are scheduled on time.
Communicate routing details to the warehouse and carrier partners.
Shipment Execution and Tracking
Coordinate with carriers to ensure timely pickups and deliveries according to customer routing instructions.
- Maintain accurate shipment records, including Bill of Lading (BOL), ASN confirmation, and Proof of Delivery (POD).
Work proactively to resolve shipping issues, delays, or exceptions.
Compliance and Post-Shipment Follow-Up
Verify that all EDI transmissions and shipment documentation meet customer compliance standards.
- Review vendor compliance reports and address any chargebacks or deductions related to routing or shipping errors.
Collaborate with internal teams to identify and correct process gaps that impact compliance or efficiency.
Systems & Tools
Utilize ERP (e.g., Visual Next, or equivalent) to manage order and shipment data.
- Work within EDI platforms such as SPS Commerce, TrueCommerce, EDI Gateway or Infor Nexus for order and routing communication.
- Maintain accurate records in TKG's internal systems for tracking and reporting purposes.
Some of What You'll Need:
- Minimum 4 years of experience in logistics, routing, or order fulfillment, in an apparel wholesale or vendor environment.
- Strong understanding of retailer compliance programs and EDI processes.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ERP/EDI platforms.
