Job Summary:
The
Tax Specialist
supports the preparation and filing of Canadian corporate and partnership tax returns with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and timeliness. This role requires expertise in
T2 and T5013 filings
, strong working knowledge of
Wolters Kluwer's Tax Prep and Tax Forms applications
, and a meticulous approach to handling multiple concurrent tax projects across various jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare
working papers
and documentation for T2, T5013, and T106 filings. - Prepare and file
T2, T5013, T106, T5, T4A-NR, T4A
, and equivalent provincial returns (including Quebec and Alberta). - Complete
sales-tax reconciliations
and filings for GST, QST, and PST. - Perform
withholding-tax reconciliations and NR4 filings
. - Produce
journal entries
related to tax activities. - Assist with
corporate income-tax provisions (CIT)
. - Support ad-hoc tax and accounting tasks as assigned by management.
Required Experience:
- Hands-on experience filing
T2 and T5013 returns
in Wolters Kluwer's Tax Prep and Tax Forms software. - Familiarity with Schedules 1-6, 8, 9, and 13 (non-exhaustive).
- Strong understanding of
Canadian and provincial tax law
,
accounting principles
, and
legal frameworks
. - Proven ability to handle
multiple priorities under tight deadlines
with high accuracy.
Nice-to-Have Experience:
- EIFEL calculations
and completion of Schedule 130 of T2s. - Experience with
GST/QST/PST filings
and related reconciliations. - Preparation of
T106, T5, T4A-NR, T4A, and NR4
returns.
Required Skills:
- Advanced tax-preparation and reconciliation skills.
- Proficiency with
Wolters Kluwer tax software
and Microsoft Excel. - Exceptional attention to detail and organizational ability.
Preferred Skills:
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving.
- Clear communication with cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with
corporate and partnership tax compliance
processes.
Additional Skills:
- Ability to manage large data sets and journal entries.
