Responsibilities

  • Supervise dogs during playtime, ensuring safe interactions and proper behavior
  • Engage in basic dog training techniques to reinforce good manners and obedience in the daycare environment
  • Handle outdoor walks to safely promote exercise and mental stimulation
  • Monitor dogs' health and well-being, recognizing signs of stress or discomfort
  • Maintain cleanliness of the daycare area, including kennels, play zones, and other dog trafficked spaces
  • Support Leads with feeding/watering, provision of medications as required and general examination/assessment of dogs' health and wellness when in boarding
  • Daily communication with Leads of any concerns related to a dog's behavior, interaction with other dogs and overall wellness

Requirements

  • Prior experience with dog handling, pet sitting, or kennel work is highly preferred
  • Knowledge of animal care practices
  • Strong animal handling skills with a focus on safety and intervention as necessary
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with team members
  • A genuine love for animals combined with a lively, energetic attitude
  • Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays
