Sturgeon Public Schools is currently recruiting a
Full-Time Temporary Educational Assistant 3
for a work assignment at Four Winds Public School.

Four Winds is a dual-track middle school in Morinville, home to approximately 430 students in Grades 5–9. Students are

engaged through inquiry-based learning where thought-provoking questions and guided exploration inspire creativity, curiosity, and critical thinking. The school offers a wide range of exciting programs, including Sport for Life, STEAM Academy, Performance Academy, and Band. With a learning garden, outdoor classroom, and amphitheatre, Four Winds is designed to connect students with nature and enrich their educational experience.

What You'll Be Doing
Under the direction of the classroom teacher, the Educational Assistant will:

  • Provide academic and behavioural support to students with complex needs and disabilities.
  • Implement individualised education plans and positive behaviour supports.
  • Assist students with daily routines, mobility, and personal care as required.
  • Support inclusive learning environments that foster engagement and success.
  • Collaborate effectively with the teaching team and other school staff.

What You Bring

  • Educational Assistant or Early Childhood Diploma/Certificate.
  • Minimum of two years' experience working with students with complex needs and challenging behaviours.
  • Formal training in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and behaviour management strategies.
  • Current First Aid, CPR, and TCIS certification.
  • Knowledge and experience with special needs support, including tube feeding, toileting, diapering, lifts, and wheelchairs.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to remain calm, patient, and compassionate in challenging situations.
  • Equivalencies consisting of a combination of education and a minimum of five years of related experience as an EA2 may be considered.
  • Clear Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check
