Job Description
JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Community Resource Programs Manager, Community Programs Coordinators (CPCs) are responsible for the resolution of hard-to-serve tenant related issues, eviction prevention and the provision of a wide range of quality of life community initiatives. Services are provided in tenant homes or common areas of NRH communities. Will apply a professional approach demonstrating respectful, non-judgmental and solution orientation as part of a collaborative team that varies with circumstances. Outcomes include homelessness prevention, housing stability, enhanced individual and family quality of life, and healthier communities.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

  • College Diploma in Social Work or University degree in a related field (e.g. Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Public Health).

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE

  • At least 3 years of mediation, community development or social service work or demonstrated transferrable skills
  • Additional Training in mental health, seniors support services, and crisis management
  • Working with community support services preferred

SKILLS

  • Knowledge of Housing Services Act 2011 and Residential Tenancies Act 2007
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Strong analytical, written, and verbal skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Able to work with vulnerable, high-risk clients
  • Familiar with principles of community development and engagement
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with support services
  • Ability to deescalate aggressive clients
  • Excellent judgement and ability to prioritize
  • Proficiency in French or a second language will be considered an asset

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

  • In accordance with the Corporate Criminal Record Check Policy, the position requires the incumbent to undergo a Criminal Records Check and submit a Canadian Police Clearance Certificate for the vulnerable sector.
  • Requires a valid class G license and use of a vehicle

Currently scheduled 8:30a.m. - 4:30p.m. Monday to Friday
