Clinical Assistant and Ophthalmic Technician

Specialist office looking for a dedicated team player with strong customer service skills. MOA certification is an asset but will train the right candidate; experience in the health care field is required.

DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Providing outstanding patient care and customer service by answering patient questions and concerns

  • Conducting a variety of diagnostic, pre and post operative tests

  • Schedule and coordinate patient appointments

  • Rooming patients and ophthalmic work up by checking visual acuity and administering drops as required

  • Working with EMR to maintain and update patient records accurately

  • Collaboration with colleagues and physicians to ensure office flow efficiency

  • Supporting physicians to help them meet their daily needs

  • Process referrals and faxes

  • Basic reception duties

  • Other general office tasks as required

Successful applicant MUST possess:

  • Medical office experience OR MOA certification

  • Computer and technical skills

  • Attentiveness to detail and follow through with tasks

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with an ability to prioritize tasks

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Effective communication skills with patients and colleagues

  • Ability to learn quickly

  • Self-motivated and a supportive, proactive team member

POSITION OFFERS:

  • Starting wage rate of $22-24/hr, as commensurate with experience

  • 32 to 36 hours per week on a fixed weekly schedule. No weekends or late hours.
