Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with the ability to lead and manage a team in a fast-paced restaurant environment. As a Chef, you will be responsible for creating delicious dishes, ensuring food safety standards are met, and maintaining a high level of hospitality for our guests.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily kitchen operations and manage kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow
- Prepare and cook high-quality dishes according to menu specifications
- Supervise food preparation and presentation to maintain consistency and quality
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, proper food handling practices and excellent kitchen hygeine all the time.
- Collaborate with the management team to develop new menu items and seasonal offerings
- Train and mentor kitchen staff in cooking techniques, food safety, and kitchen operations
- Maintain inventory of kitchen supplies and order ingredients as needed
- Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and collaboration
Skills
- Proven experience in supervising kitchen staff and managing restaurant operations in a busy environment servring All day breakfast, lunch and dinner.
- Strong skills in food preparation and cooking techniques with the ability to prepare the recepie from scratch. Specifically looking for Canadian food delicacies such as pancakes, waffles, french toast, omelettes and other egg specialities, pastas, burgers, chicken appetizers, salads and soups.
- Strong knowledge in food service and plating presentation skills.
- Knowledge of food handling practices and food safety regulations
- Excellent leadership abilities with a focus on team management
- Previous experience in the food industry or hospitality sector is required
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Maintain excellent kitchen hygeine.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with staff and guests
- A passion for culinary arts and creativity in menu development
