About Masti's Resto-Bar:

Masti's is a new, authentic Indian Resto-Bar in Waterloo serving Hyderabadi specialties and a diverse menu. We are growing fast and looking for organized, energetic team members to help us manage our busy service flow.

​The Role:

We are looking for a sharp and organized KOT (Kitchen Order Ticket) Coordinator to manage the flow of orders in our kitchen. You will be the "bridge" between the Front of House (Waiters) and the Back of House (Chefs). Your main goal is to ensure that orders are read correctly, communicated clearly to the chefs, and sent out to customers accurately and on time.

​Key Responsibilities:

  • ​Manage KOTs: Monitor the KOT printer/screen. Immediately pull tickets and organize them by time and priority.
  • ​Call the Pass: Clearly communicate incoming orders to the line cooks and chefs. Ensure the kitchen knows what to cook next (e.g., "Fire two Biryanis, one Butter Chicken").
  • ​Quality Control: Check every dish before it leaves the kitchen. Ensure the presentation is correct, garnishes are on, and the portion size is right.
  • ​Accuracy Check: Compare the plated food against the KOT to ensure no items are missing and that special requests (e.g., "No onions," "Extra spicy") are honored.
  • ​Traffic Control: Coordinate with food runners to get hot food to tables immediately. Prevent food from sitting in the window.
  • ​Pack Takeout: Ensure takeout/delivery orders are packed securely with the correct chutneys, cutlery, and sides.

​Requirements:

  • ​Previous experience in a busy restaurant kitchen is preferred.
  • ​Strong Communication: Must be able to speak loud and clear in a noisy kitchen environment. (Knowledge of Hindi/Telugu is a strong asset for communicating with our culinary team).
  • ​Speed & Focus: Ability to handle high-pressure situations without losing cool. We are a busy spot, and the tickets come in fast.
  • ​Organization: Must be able to multitask and track multiple tables at once.
  • ​Familiarity with Indian/Hyderabadi cuisine is a major plus (knowing the difference between dishes at a glance).

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Casual

Pay: $17.60 per hour

  • Waterloo, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
