Regional Relationship Managers
to cultivate strategic partnerships, and represent TIFF: The Market across key international territories.

Reporting to the Senior Director, Market Sales & Partnerships, you will lead on-the-ground sales execution, regional relationship development and pipeline growth within the assigned territories.

This is a contract-based, revenue-focused role requiring strong industry networks, and the ability to operate autonomously while aligning closely with central strategy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Regional Sales & Revenue Execution

  • Drive revenue across exhibition sales, partnerships, advertising and promotional buys, large-scale delegation pass packages, and event-based offerings within the assigned region.
  • Build, manage, and advance a robust regional sales pipeline, contributing meaningfully toward overall Market revenue targets.
  • Identify, qualify, pitch, and close opportunities aligned with approved RFPs, pricing, packaging, and commercial frameworks.
  • Deliver accurate regional revenue forecasts, pipeline updates, and deal tracking to support central planning and decision-making.

Partnership Development & Relationship Management

  • Identify, pitch, and secure partnerships with film boards and national agencies, distributors, film sales agencies, broadcasters, production companies, studios, innovation companies, philanthropic funders, and corporate partners in the region.
  • Collaborating with the central team to finalize commercial agreements.
  • Steward partner relationships to ensure value delivery, satisfaction, renewals, and long-term collaboration.
  • Support senior-level negotiations by preparing (translating) proposals, securing commitments, and managing regional follow-through in coordination with the Senior Director.

Market Intelligence & Business Development

  • Provide regional market insights on industry trends, competitive activity, pricing dynamics, and growth opportunities.
  • Identify emerging players, and untapped opportunities relevant to film, series, and innovation sectors.
  • Act as a feedback loop between the region and the Senior Director to inform product development and strategy.

Representation & Industry Engagement

  • Serve as a visible on-ground ambassador for
    TIFF: The Market
    in the assigned region at key regional industry events.
  • Leverage, cultivate and foster strong relationships with existing and prospective partners, ensuring a high-quality experience and strong brand perception.

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

  • Revenue & Conversion: Drive revenue; convert qualified leads into confirmed exhibitors, partners, or monetizable opportunities.
  • Pipeline Management: Maintain an accurate regional sales pipeline; provide regular forecasts, timely updates, and actionable market intelligence through weekly sales and pipeline reviews with the Senior Director and Sales Administration.
  • Regional Impact & Brand: Increase TIFF: The Market's participation and visibility in the region, ensuring high-quality client engagement and brand representation.
  • Partnership Stewardship: Cultivate long-term relationships with new and returning clients; coordinate with Toronto Sales team for deal execution and reporting.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • 7+ years of experience in sales, partnerships, business development, or event sales within film, television, media, content industry.
  • Deep regional industry knowledge and established networks.
  • Fluency in region-specific language and English is required.
  • Proven ability to pitch, negotiate, and close commercial deals.
  • Strong commercial judgment, communication skills, and cultural fluency.
  • Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to travel for industry markets and events as required.
