Position

The Junior Buyer / Purchasing Assistant will support the purchasing and supply chain functions by assisting with supplier communication, purchase orders, inventory tracking, cost analysis, and administrative purchasing tasks. This entry-level role is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills who is looking to grow their career in purchasing and supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

  • · Assist in preparing and processing purchase orders, pricing updates, and inventory replenishment
  • · Maintain accurate records of purchasing data, supplier information, and product details
  • · Liaise with suppliers to confirm order details, lead times, pricing, and delivery schedules
  • · Monitor inventory levels and support forecasting to ensure adequate stock availability
  • · Communicate with warehouse and internal departments regarding inbound shipments and product needs
  • · Assist with resolving order discrepancies, backorders, and delivery issues
  • · Support cost analysis and vendor performance tracking
  • · Perform general administrative tasks related to purchasing and procurement

Qualifications

  • · 2+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, inventory coordination, or similar role (preferred)
  • · Experience in a warehouse or wholesale distribution environment is an asset
  • · Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills; familiarity with ERP or inventory management systems is an advantage
  • · Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • · Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment
  • · Detail-oriented with strong numerical aptitude
