Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join our team as an Afternoon Shift Dock Supervisor for a busy LTL/TL operation. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our dock, ensuring efficient and safe loading and unloading of trucks, and managing a team of dock workers.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of dock workers and the shunt truck driver during the afternoon shift.
- Oversee, plan and adjust the loading and unloading of trucks and trailers to ensure timely and accurate freight processing, and to meet customer deadlines.
- Communicate effectively with dock and dispatch staff, drivers, and management.
- Resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during the shift.
- Communicate directly with customers by email and telephone for escalated issues.
- Monitor productivity and help implement improvements as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in LTL logistics/transportation and warehouse operations.
- Proven leadership and team supervision skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and solve problems efficiently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity and comfort using a TMS (transportation management system) to periodically look up orders to resolve loading issues.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $52,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
