Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join our team as an Afternoon Shift Dock Supervisor for a busy LTL/TL operation. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our dock, ensuring efficient and safe loading and unloading of trucks, and managing a team of dock workers.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of dock workers and the shunt truck driver during the afternoon shift.
  • Oversee, plan and adjust the loading and unloading of trucks and trailers to ensure timely and accurate freight processing, and to meet customer deadlines.
  • Communicate effectively with dock and dispatch staff, drivers, and management.
  • Resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during the shift.
  • Communicate directly with customers by email and telephone for escalated issues.
  • Monitor productivity and help implement improvements as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in LTL logistics/transportation and warehouse operations.
  • Proven leadership and team supervision skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and solve problems efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity and comfort using a TMS (transportation management system) to periodically look up orders to resolve loading issues.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $52,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
