Position Overview

Our client is looking for an experienced Mining Engineer to support operational excellence at a major mining site. This role will focus on improving mine planning, equipment utilization, and maintenance processes while ensuring safety and efficiency. The successful candidate will work closely with technical teams to implement advanced operational systems and contribute to the overall success of mining operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize short- and mid-term mine plans in collaboration with planning teams.
  • Monitor mining operations through site visits, identify operational bottlenecks, and recommend improvements.
  • Support autonomous or semi-autonomous fleet operations by reviewing and refining design standards.
  • Work alongside production, maintenance, and reliability teams to enhance daily operations.
  • Maintain clear communication with technical teams to improve efficiency and reliability.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and new technologies in mining operations.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 5 years in mine planning, reliability, maintenance planning, or operations.
  • Degree in Mining, Civil, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Professional Engineer registration in BC or Alberta is an asset.
  • Experience with CMMS systems such as SAP, Maximo, or similar.
  • Proficiency with office and project management software (MS Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with mine design, planning software (e.g., Civil CAD, Vulcan, Deswik).
  • Knowledge of reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) and predictive maintenance practices.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Committed to maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.
