Purpose:

The Maritime Regional Truck Driver transports freight within the Maritime provinces while supporting the company's long-haul operations between Canada and the United States. This role ensures safe, timely, and efficient deliveries while maintaining compliance with transportation regulations and providing excellent service.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate heavy-duty trucks to transport freight within the Maritime provinces.
  • Support long-haul Canada–USA operations by connecting regional freight to cross-border shipments.
  • Plan routes and manage schedules to ensure timely pickups and deliveries.
  • Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with provincial, and Canadian transportation safety regulations.
  • Accurately complete bills of lading, logbooks, and other delivery documentation.
  • Report defects, incidents, or delays promptly to dispatch or fleet management.
  • Maintain cleanliness and proper functioning of assigned trucks and trailers.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding trip progress and any issues encountered.
  • Deliver professional, courteous, and reliable service to customers and partners.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Class 1/AZ commercial driver's license with air brake endorsement and no automatic transmission restriction.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of regional or long-haul driving experience is preferred.
  • Ability to be able to drive manual transmission trucks.
  • Clean driver's abstract and criminal record check.
  • Strong knowledge of Maritime roads, highways, and regional logistics.
  • Familiarity with Canadian regulations (asset).
  • Ability to operate electronic logging devices (ELDs) and GPS navigation systems.
  • Excellent time management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, weekends, and overtime when required.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From $26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
