**Job Overview**

**Duties**
- Operate heavy trucks to transport freight across designated routes.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and securing of freight.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving, promoting safe driving practices at all times.
- Perform routine maintenance on the vehicle, including minor repairs as needed.

**Skills**
- Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL).
- Knowledge of freight handling procedures and regulations.
- Proficiency in operating heavy equipment, including forklifts.
- Basic repair skills to address minor vehicle issues on the road.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills for interaction with clients, dispatchers, and team members.
- Experience driving in /on all road, and weather conditions.
- Experience with both mountain and winter driving is a must.
- Ability to obtain and retain learning opportunities.
- Chaining experience and knowledge is considered an asset but can be trained.
