We are seeking a Planner/Scheduler to add to our team. Being bilingual in English/Mandarin is a preferred skill for the position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To support the project management function by providing project schedules for oil and gas projects. The scope of the scheduler's activities includes:
  • Assisting the Project Manager in the overall planning and scheduling activities on projects.
  • Maintaining routine schedules on a regular basis.
  • Preparation of Earned Value/ Performance Reports.
  • Liaising with Project Management on matters relating to planning and scheduling.
  • Monitor schedule deviation for assigned disciplines or specialties and advise senor analysts for their consideration.
  • Participate in the creation of the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and development of schedules (including resource loading) for those WBS elements.
  • Participate in the project change management process related to schedule.

Key Skills:

  • Lead the development of project schedules and identify activities necessary to produce products and services during project execution.
  • Apply work breakdown structure requirements.
  • Manage information integration from engineers, subcontractors, owners, and others to create an integrated master schedule.
  • Identify critical paths including critical float path analysis.
  • Create graphics including Gantt charts, activity network diagrams, time-scaled logic diagrams, and histograms.
  • Establish and manage a performance management system using baseline information in the estimate and schedule.
  • Work with project management to set goals, objectives, and success factors and analyze project status.
  • Assessing progress measurement and developing/updating progress curves for progress reporting.
  • Perform project performance analysis including earned value. Preparing project schedules based on defined project execution philosophies.

  • Preparing schedule updates and general maintenance in Primavera and/or MS Project.
  • Schedule related information collection and distribution.
  • Ability to work effectively with team members.
  • Ability to interact and proactively resolve project control issues; ability to explain practices to employees and obtain their understanding and commitment.
  • Ability to support and interact with peer groups.
  • Ability to analyze information, determines discrepancies, and resolve issues.
  • Must be dependable and ensure that deadlines are maintained.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience, scheduling in an EPCM project environment.
  • The ideal candidate will possess post-secondary accounting education, preferably related to the Oil and Gas Industry.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel).
  • Proficient in Primavera (P6) and Microsoft Project.
  • Results oriented individual with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and time lines.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills.
  • Construction experience is not a requirement but would be considered an asset.
  • Planning and Scheduling Professional (PSP) or Project Management Professional (PMP) designation would be an asset.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40.00-$70.00 per hour
