Role description:
Arcadis is seeking an experienced and motivated
Transportation Engineer or Transportation Planner to join our growing Mobility Advisory team in Western Canada
.

The ideal candidate will possess experience in transportation planning, preliminary design, and sustainability programs, ideally with Complete Streets, bike share and e-scooter programs experience. Your background includes expertise in multimodal transportation planning, engineering, and project management. You will have experience with the conceptual and functional design of multimodal transportation assets, new/smart mobility, transportation planning and analysis, policy review and data analysis. You will be familiar with key planning and design frameworks and be skilled in leading public and interested party consultations.

Your portfolio will include supporting the design and development of comprehensive transportation projects and programs that encompass active transportation and new mobility solutions to support multi-modal initiatives across our Mobility Advisory team.

You will be responsible for undertaking research and analysis to evaluate transportation data and trends, identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation in projects and programs. Using data driven approaches, you will support decision-making processes.

You will also be responsible for the conceptual and functional design of Complete Street projects and active transportation assets, contributing to transportation master plans, major projects and the multimodal scopes of mobility plans.

Role accountabilities:
In this role, you will support the execution of complex transportation planning and engineering projects, ensuring that deliverables are completed on time and to the satisfaction of our clients. You will assist in the development of transportation projects by conducting thorough network analysis and utilizing advanced data analytics, which will inform effective decision-making and ensure policy alignment with current standards. Additionally, you will guide the creation of comprehensive plans and policies, promoting sustainable and innovative transportation solutions that address both current and future mobility needs.

You will play a key role in collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams across Mobility Advisory and other global business groups, providing technical insights and expert advice to enhance project outcomes. Your expertise will also be leveraged in the proposal development process, where you will contribute detailed analyses and expert perspectives to create compelling and comprehensive documentation for prospective projects. Maintaining high standards of quality and compliance, you will implement rigorous quality assurance processes and ensure all projects meet industry standards and client expectations.

Furthermore, in this role you will foster innovation by staying up to date with emerging trends and technologies in transportation planning and engineering. By integrating fresh strategies, you will enhance the efficiency and sustainability of our solutions. Building and maintaining strong business relationships with both public and private sector clients, you will engage at senior management levels to ensure our services and solutions align with their broader organizational goals.

Finally, you will actively support business development efforts by identifying growth opportunities, preparing persuasive proposals, and presenting to prospective clients. Your contributions will be critical in expanding our business and establishing Arcadis as a trusted partner in the field of transportation planning and engineering.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Planning or Civil Engineering or a related field
  • Registered Professional Planner (RPP) or Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or equivalent
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in planning / engineering, including a track record of supporting the development and implementation of transportation solutions focused on sustainable programs
  • Ability to assist projects of various sizes and collaborate effectively within our diverse and multidisciplinary teams
  • Strategic problem-solving skills and advanced technical knowledge in transportation planning / engineering
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop and deliver professional presentations
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines concurrently

The salary range for this position is $78,000 - $117,000. The base salary represents Arcadis' hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.
