Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Translational Research in Oncology Full time $65,000 - $75,000

Translational Research in Oncology (TRIO) is a global academic clinical research organization dedicated to advancing translational cancer research in the clinical trial setting. Our passionate team is committed to providing cancer treatments of the future to the world of today.

TRIO is looking for a Intermediate Accountant to join our Finance team. Reporting to the Director Finance, this position will be hybrid-based.

This will be a defined term, full-time contract position for approximately 6 months to support Greenphire reconciliation.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly financial statements (full cycle) including year end entries, and management reports
  • Assist with translation and consolidation of financial statements including inter-company transactions
  • Assist with budgeting, reforecasting and variance analysis
  • Record and maintain monitoring accruals
  • General ledger maintenance and account reconciliations including cost allocation
  • Assist with the quarterly investigator payments process including creating payment reports and issuing payments
  • Reconcile and record employee expense reports
  • Monthly reporting of GST/QST returns
  • Respond to inquiries made by internal and external parties
  • Assist with the coordination of the annual financial audit and preparation of tax documents
  • Maintains finance source documents
  • Provide coverage on other Finance duties in the event of employee(s) absence
  • Special projects as they arise

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a degree or diploma in Accounting/Business/Commerce
  • 3 to 5 years of hands on experience and exposure to full-cycle accounting, preferably within a complex project base organization
  • Combinations of education and experience will be considered
  • Excellent analytical and reconciliation skills while maintaining accuracy
  • Working knowledge of accounting systems (NetSuite in particular), intermediate to advanced skills in the use of Excel, Word, Outlook and other software programs
  • Demonstrate attention to detail, accuracy and thoroughness
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with senior management and support staff to enhance professionalism
  • Works well under pressure
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and achieve project timelines in a fast paced and multi-currency environment
  • Must work both independently and in a team environment

Pay Range $65,000.00 to $75,000.00 annually - Salary to be influenced (or determined) by the education, experience, location, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
