Position Summary
We are seeking an Articling Student to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated law graduate who is eager to gain hands-on experience in both real estate transactions and litigation matters. The successful candidate will work closely with senior counsel and have meaningful involvement in client files from day one.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, pleadings, and correspondence.
- Assist in the preparation of closing documents, agreements of purchase and sale, and title searches for real estate transactions.
- Attend client meetings, mediations, discoveries, and court appearances (where appropriate).
- Prepare motion records, affidavits, and other court materials.
- Support lawyers in all aspects of litigation and transactional practice.
- Participate in file management and client communication.
Qualifications
- Completion of a J.D. or LL.B. degree from a recognized Canadian law school (or NCA equivalent).
- Strong academic standing and interest in real estate law and civil litigation.
- Excellent research, writing, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Professionalism, attention to detail, and strong interpersonal skills.
