Medicine Hat College invites applications for a full time Coordinator, Hospitality and Conference Services in our Hospitality & Conference Services department.

A little about the role:

Reporting to the Manager, Hospitality & Conference Services, this position provides booking services, organizes, coordinates and facilitates the use of Medicine Hat College facilities for meetings, special events, training sessions, conferences, trade shows, presentations and theatre productions. This position will also provide administrative services in promoting and marketing the facility and coordinates user needs with internal departments and external suppliers.

Details:

As a successful applicant you'll have:

  • Diploma in event planning/management, hospitality, business administration, or related field
  • Two years' related experience, preferably in event coordination or hospitality
  • Equivalent combinations of education and work experience may be considered
  • Previous scheduling and food services experience is an asset
  • Effective listening, written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize actions effectively in order to respond to numerous and diverse clients, challenges and demands.
  • Proficient working knowledge of computer systems and software including word processing, spreadsheet, and database systems
  • Ability to work collaboratively and be effective in a team environment

Terms of Employment

Hours: 35 hours per week

Wage Rate: Start Rate $24.85, Job Rate $28.10
