The Challenge
Reporting to the Technical Manager, the Technical Representative's mission is to offer the best packaging solutions to customers and optimize their properties and overall performance to help achieve company sales and revenue objectives. This is achieved by supporting client's unique needs by offering innovative packaging product designs, automation & standardisation solutions, and cost saving opportunities tailored to their situation.

Must be available for travel within Canada and the United States 50% of working time as part of the role.
In short, you will provide support to our Sales team and customers by:

  • Providing support and packaging optimization services to our customers.
  • Demonstrating ownerships and follow-through on commitments made to our customers.
  • Facilitating issue resolution through on & off site problem-solving with customers.

You Will Achieve This By Being Responsible For

  • Collaboration with customers to improve existing packaging, material, and techniques, as well as necessary adjustments to equipment setup.
  • Maintaining client relationships and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Ensuring performance of new products for customers and providing necessary support to sales team regarding technical needs as required.
  • Supporting customer in automation packaging.
  • Develop new packaging material and/or concepts as required.

You Too, Put Forward Your Strengths
Education:
Post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design Technology, or equivalent.

Experience:
+ years in a client focused engineering technology representative role or similar; Experience in automation, mechatronics, and project management a strong asset.

Technical:
ERP and CRM systems, Tappi & ISO standards knowledge, functional understanding of packaging machinery & equipment, and corrugated systems; experience with BHS OS (iCorr, CCC, MCC), Escada Temperature Control Systems, Corrugation and Conversion Equipment Knowledge a strong asset.

Skills:
Proactive and self-motivated with a strong client focused mindset, problem-solving skills and innovative solution generation, excellent communicator with the ability to explain difficult technical concepts and a track record of meeting client needs, exceptional rigour and attention to detail.
