Scheller Metal Fabricators Ltd. | Schellvac Equipment Inc. is a Winnipeg-based Hydrovac and Vacuum Truck Manufacturer and Distributor. We are expanding with a new branch at 126 Wheatfield Rd., Winnipeg, MB, operating as an extension focused on manufacturing vacuum trucks.
We are seeking an Operations Manager ready to take on this exciting leadership role. This position offers the opportunity to build and grow your own team, establish processes, and help lead the launch of our new branch.

Key Responsibilities
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team for a new and growing branch.
- Oversee day-to-day operations.
- Manage full employee lifecycle activities, including recruitment, onboarding, training, scheduling, coaching, and performance management.
- Facilitate regular team production meetings to maintain alignment, communication, and operational clarity.
- Establish and maintain quality control processes to ensure products meet company and industry standards.
- Monitor inventory, operational spending, and branch performance; provide required reports to the head office accounting team.
- Collaborate effectively with internal teams, customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders to support smooth branch operations.
- Ensure all team members adhere to health and safety regulations, company policies, and best practices.
- Support the branch's growth by fostering a positive work environment, strong service standards, and solid relationships with employees, customers, and suppliers.
- Review and verify purchase orders and vehicle specifications to ensure accuracy and customer satisfaction.
- Assess workforce needs, set objectives, track efficiency, and address performance gaps as needed.
- Manage resource allocation, internal processes, and branch priorities to achieve operational and financial targets.
Skills & Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Manufacturing environment.
- A minimum of 5 years in a management role.
- Diploma or degree in Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field is a highly valued asset.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Knowledge in heavy-duty equipment, electrical, hydraulic, and welding fields.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient time management.
- Strong management and leadership skills.
- Customer service experience.
- Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment and lead a team safely toward production goals.
- Computer skills in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $75,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
