JOB SUMMARY

The Development and Technical Support Engineer is responsible for leading within a small team, all engineering and technical disciplines that includes mechanical and electrical product enhancements, quality conformance, product testing, and maintenance of specialty Gas Detection Sensors within commercial and industrial applications.

The Development and Technical Support Engineer is part of Belimo Sensors Inc, based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada and reports to the General Manager and bears full responsibility for agreed upon goals and objectives.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead and contribute to all engineering and technical aspects of product enhancements and improvements projects
  • Work with internal & external, local & international partners
  • Build up and conduct product testing, in-house and with external labs as appropriate (especially in conjunction with UL & EN compliance)
  • Build up and document expertise in products, applications, norms and standards
  • Assure that the products meet Belimo customer's expectations and quality standards (product quality, maintenance, documentation)
  • Provide production/assembly support as required
  • Cooperate and communicate effectively with the General Manager other project participants to provide assistance and technical support including resolving quality complaints
  • Draft technical product specifications (concept requirements) for enhancements and improvements
  • Create and maintain resource plan, project/task management tool, budget and timelines
  • Create engineering documentation including drawings, bill of materials, technical specifications, work instructions, standards/procedures and checklists
  • Exchange product, technical and manufacturing experience with team members and provide regular updates on projects
  • Collaborate with the General Manager and other Engineers from our HQ locations in Hinwil, Switzerland and Danbury, CT, as well as the Procurement and Quality within a hands-on environment
  • Limited travel may also be required.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Master's degree in Engineering
  • Product concept design (high-level design) experience
  • Advanced hardware design and testing experience
  • Product development project management experience
  • Experience in product support
  • Advanced MS Office skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and support multiple projects
  • Must have strong documentation, organizational, presentation and communication skills
  • People management (functional & disciplinary)
  • Languages: English and French
