Job Description: Server Assistant

We are seeking a highly organized, motivated, and engaging Server Assistant to join our team at Kiin The primary duty of this role is to ensure that customers have a memorable dining experience by helping provide exceptional customer service that reflects Kiin's core values: unexpected, generous, and genuine. The Server Assistant position includes helping servers run food by describing each of Kiin's complex dishes in detail, anticipating both the server's and guest's needs, clearing and resetting tables with intention, and providing a personal and thoughtful experience to each guest. Schedule: Wednesday through Sunday evenings with 2-3 shifts/week (ability and potential to pick up more). Must be available Thursdays and Sundays

Pay: $17.60/hour plus tips

Overview of Responsibilities:

  • Stays up to date with the most current food and drink menus
  • Assists with running and explaining dishes and drinks (incl. maintaining food and drink knowledge)
  • Efficiently clears and sets tables for courses (anticipating servers' and guests' needs)
  • Assists the host with resetting tables between seatings
  • Communicates guests inquiries/concerns with servers
  • Helps stock the bar
  • Polish cutlery & glassware
  • Performs side duties (washroom checks, stocking, folds, candles etc.)
  • Assists the server with opening and/or closing restaurant duties
  • Collaborate with other restaurant servers/ kitchen/bar staff and follow established policies and system standards

Skills Required:

  • Previous restaurant or hospitality experience required
  • Detail oriented and can work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Can communicate clearly in a professional manner
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service skills with a customer-oriented approach and patience
  • Has a talent for communicating with people and anticipating their needs
  • Attention to cleanliness and safety
  • Formal hospitality training/certification is considered an asset
  • Smart Serve certificate required

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $17.60 per hour
