Caterpillar's Job Site Solutions group, part of the Resource Industries Sales, Services, and Technology division is currently seeking a Fleet Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for fulfilling customer's specific contractual commitments in a profitable manner. These commitments include specific deliverables in equipment management, production optimization, safety, sustainability, and financial performance. You will work directly with customer executive management, plant management, and equipment operators. You will have primary responsibility for managing the Dealer partnership assuring strong relations and profitable Dealer results.

What you will do:

  • Leading customer engagements and providing matrix leadership for contract execution.

  • Achieving alignment of various parties at Caterpillar, Dealers, and key end-user personnel.

  • Partnering with Dealer personnel to direct the day-to-day activity related to contractual commitments at each site contract.

  • Successfully delivering on all areas of contractual commitments by utilizing a complete understanding of Caterpillar and Dealer Capability.

  • Providing a clear vision for success and driving high levels of execution to achieve our commitments through your deep subject matter expertise in equipment management, production optimization, safety, sustainability, and financial structuring.

  • Providing and applying solutions to problems in a customer-working environment.

  • Working with Caterpillar Product Groups and other internal Business Units to completely understand the technical and operational capabilities of our equipment, technology, and services.

  • Creating innovative new value-added capabilities to improve site operations in a manner that Caterpillar and Dealers can grow profitability and reduce risk.

What skills you will have:

Technical Excellence:

  • Extensive experience in the mining industry, including hands-on management of mining equipment.

  • Proven track record of successfully working with mining customers, ensuring their needs are met with precision and care.

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with dealers and customers, fostering strong, productive relationships.

  • Technical expertise in Large Mining Trucks will set you apart.

Customer Focus: Knowledge of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and ability to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions.
Products and Services: Knowledge of major products and services and product and service groups; ability to apply knowledge of product and service appropriately to diverse situations.
Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
Negotiating: Knowledge of successful negotiation concepts and techniques; ability to negotiate successfully across the organization and with external vendors and clients in a constructive and collaborative manner.
Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.
Value Selling: Knowledge of the principles and practices for selling products, technology and services; ability to provide overall product/service 'value' and to differentiate support offerings that address clearly understood customer needs.

Additional Information:

This role is based remotely, with your home office located in Alberta. Ideally, candidates will reside near Fort McMurray, AB, to best support Job Site Solutions customers in the region.

This position may require 40 – 50 % travel.

A company car will be provided.

Domestic relocation assistance is available. 

Visa sponsorship, international assignments, or payroll transfers are not available for this role.

Summary Pay Range:

$122, ,00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
