Server – Hyatt Place Kelowna

Overview

Hyatt Place Kelowna's Placery Restaurant is looking for an energetic and skilled server to join our dynamic team. If you love providing excellent service and enjoy working in a lively hospitality setting, this could be the perfect opportunity for you

Key Responsibilities

· Create a welcoming atmosphere where everyone at the Placery feels comfortable.

· Provide guests with detailed knowledge of drinks, menu items, garnishes, and preparation methods.

· Maintain cleanliness by adhering to all safety and food regulations.

· Follow policies and service standards, accurately handle cash transactions, and serve beverages responsibly.

· Serve tables promptly, answer questions, and assist with special dietary needs as required.

· Address guest concerns professionally to ensure satisfaction.

· Set up and break down service stations efficiently.

· Complete side duties during opening or closing shifts.

· Assist guests with their questions and requests courteously.

· Review daily reports, arrivals, VIPs, and group information to stay prepared.

· Deliver hospitality that is professional, approachable, and energetic.

· Work scheduled event shifts as required, adapting to different roles and responsibilities to ensure successful event execution.

· Take-on additional duties as needed to support the team.

Qualifications and Requirements

Skills and Qualifications:

· Previous experience working as a server in busy, upscale restaurants.

· Willingness to work nights and weekends.

· Proficient in using the Micros POS System.

· Strong communication and people skills.

· Dependable, responsible, and adaptable.

· Able to perform well in a fast-paced team environment.

· Attentive to guests' needs, maintaining composure and courtesy at all times.

Physical Requirements (include but are not limited to):

· Able to stand and move throughout the shift.

· Capable of lifting and carrying up to 25lbs.

· May need to kneel, push, pull, or lift as part of job duties.

· Occasionally use ladders, stairs, or ramps.

· Able to remain standing and active for up to 8 hours.

· Move quickly as needed to maintain service levels.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.85-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
