Job Summary:

Located in St. Catharines' unique Design District, Puddy's Bar & Grill is a busy small bar that prides itself on outstanding service, quality food, a clean and organized kitchen, and a fun place to work. We are seeking additional kitchen help hours per week) to join our growing team of long-standing and dedicated staff, to serve our local and fun regular clientele.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, cook, and plate food menu items according to the kitchen's specifications. These include traditional pub fare: pizza, wings, burgers, sandwiches, etc.
  • Ensure the quality and presentation of all dishes meets the restaurant's standards.
  • Prepares food for menu items assembly.
  • Maintaining kitchen cleanliness and organization.
  • Willing to cook menu items in an unsupervised environment during low volume shifts.
  • Shifts include Weekend days and Weekday evenings.
  • Follow health and safety protocols and ensure compliance with regional health and safety regulations.
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely.
  • Performs opening and closing procedures.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
  • Flexible to work days, evenings, and weekends.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
  • 1-2 years of experience in fast-paced kitchens preferred.
  • A degree or diploma in culinary program is an asset.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Food Handlers Certificate
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen management.
  • Ability to occasionally lift items as heavy as 40 lbs.

Job Type: Casual

Pay: From $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week

Education:

  • Secondary School (preferred)

Experience:

  • Cooking: 1 year (preferred)

Language:

  • English (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Food Handler Certification (preferred)
  • Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler or equivalent (preferred)
