Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Gas Fitter - Installer to join our dynamic manufacturing and construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining piping systems, structural components, and mechanical equipment with precision and efficiency. Your expertise in blueprint reading, and mechanical assembly will be essential to ensure the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects across construction sites and manufacturing facilities, contributing to critical infrastructure and industrial systems.

Duties

  • Read and interpret detailed schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to guide assembly and installation processes.
  • Perform various welding techniques including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), and welding to join metal components securely.
  • Fit, align, and assemble piping systems, structural frameworks, HVAC units, and other mechanical parts using hand tools, power tools, calipers, and pipe threading equipment.
  • Conduct pipe bending, tube bending, soldering, and rigging operations to prepare components for installation or repair.
  • Follow ASME codes & standards to ensure all welds and assemblies meet industry safety and quality requirements.
  • Use schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot issues during assembly or maintenance activities.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including inspection reports and compliance records.
  • Collaborate with team members on construction sites or manufacturing floors to ensure timely completion of projects while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Assist in routine maintenance of equipment and systems to prevent downtime or failures.
  • Support fire sprinkler fitting, plumbing installations, pipeline setups, or HVAC system assembly as needed.

Skills

  • Install gas heating units and their components
  • Measure and mark reference points for installation of gas lines and equipment
  • Service gas heating units and their components
  • Install and maintain meters and regulators and gas lines between gas unit and gas meter
  • Repair and service gas appliances and related equipment
  • Advise clients regarding standards, safety features and maintenance of gas units and systems
  • Study drawings and specifications to determine the layout of the installation and materials required
  • Test and adjust control mechanisms and check pipes and piping connections for gas leaks using gas detecting devices
  • Install and service propane and natural gas filling stations
  • Operate CADD and other computer software systems

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
