Position Summary

We are currently hiring for the role of Generator Technician. This is a hands-on, field-based position involving the service and repair of generators. While we provide additional training, you must have a working knowledge of small engines and AC/DC electrical systems. You will be expected to work independently outdoors in all types of weather conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, service, and repair a wide range of portable and standby generators.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, and general inspections.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues using schematics, diagrams, and meters.
  • Install and test new generator systems as needed.
  • Complete accurate service reports and communicate effectively with customers and team members.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Participate in ongoing training as provided.

Requirements

  • Basic understanding of small engines and electrical systems (AC/DC) is a must.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Must have basic hand tools and own a high-quality multimeter.
  • Experience with generator brands such as Generac, Kohler, Cummins, etc., is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working independently and taking initiative.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in generator repair or electrical/mechanical service work.
  • OEM Certifications (Generac, Kohler, Cummins, etc.) are an asset.
  • Familiarity with ATS (Automatic Transfer Switch) systems and load testing.
