Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Painter to join our team. The Residential Painter is responsible for preparing, painting, and finishing interior surfaces across the Richmond Yards portfolio. This role ensures units and common areas are maintained to high standards, supports turnover timelines, and contributes to the overall appearance and quality of the properties.

Duties

Surface Preparation

  • Inspect surfaces to determine required materials and preparation methods.
  • Prepare drywall, plaster, wood, and other surfaces by sanding, scraping, patching, and priming.
  • Cover and protect flooring, fixtures, windows, and furniture.

Painting & Finishing

  • Apply paint, to interior surfaces.
  • Use brushes, rollers, to achieve consistent, high-quality finishes.
  • Match paint colors to meet property requirements. Ensure proper quantities are available prior to commencing jobs.

Maintenance & Repairs

  • Perform minor drywall repairs (taping, patching, mudding).
  • Repair damaged painted surfaces and perform touch-ups as required.
  • Identify and report any maintenance issues in units or common areas.

Property Turnover & Coordination

  • Complete unit painting during turnovers within required timelines.
  • Work closely with maintenance staff, cleaners, and property managers to coordinate scheduling.
  • Ensure work areas are clean, safe, and ready for occupancy.

Tools, Equipment & Safety

  • Maintain painting tools and equipment in good condition.
  • Follow company safety procedures and use PPE as required.
  • Handle and store paints, solvents, and materials according to WHMIS guidelines.

Requirements

  • Completion of secondary school preferred.
  • Experience in residential or commercial painting required (1–2 years minimum).
  • Knowledge of painting techniques, materials, and surface preparation.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in various indoor environments.
  • WHMIS certification an asset (or provided upon hire).
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proven reliability & dependability
  • Can effectively manage time, and task lists

Pay: $23.00-$25.00 per hour
