#LI-DNIJOB DESCRIPTIONPOSITION Specialist, Sterile Compounding - RPhTCOMPANY AND LOCATION Aved - Head Office in Oshawa, 44 Richmond Street WestEMPLOYMENT TYPEFull-time, PermanentHOURS WORKED37.5 hours / week, Monday to Friday, weekends/overtime when requiredDEPARTMENT CompoundingREPORTING TO Manager, Compounding TeamDIRECT REPORTS NoPOSITION SUMMARY:You will prepare sterile pharmaceutical preparations in accordance with procedures and standards to ensure the highest quality of products. You will also participate in the maintenance of the cleanroom, inventory, and necessary equipment. Working in a dynamic environment, the candidate shall be adaptable, dependable and a team player. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Compound sterile pharmaceutical preparation using aseptic technique and following standard operating procedures and NAPRA, USP and USP standards.Document details of the process when compounding in the sterile clean roomsSterilize equipment and instruments as required.Submit to regularly scheduled garbing competency and glove fingertip testing, and conduct media fill testsUse, clean and maintain all equipmentMonitor and maintain records for clean room facilities and equipment as required.Clean and maintain the sterile clean rooms.Conduct air sampling, surface sampling and wipe sampling.Prep and stage devices as needed.Maintain product inventory, including completing inventory counts and checking expiry datesProvide oversight and guidance to other team membersPerform lot and expiry checks of ingredientsQUALIFICATIONSDiploma from a CCAPP accredited college is required.Registered as a Pharmacy Technician, or in the process of becoming registered, is required.Sterile Compounding experience is an asset.Previous experience in a pharmacy or other related fields is an assetStrong analytical and critical thinking skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong attention to detailStrong organizational skillsWORKING CONDITIONS:Standing for long periods of the dayWorking inside a sterile cleanroom for long periods of the dayWorking with hazardous materials in a hazardous sterile environmentq92pFsQQEp
