THE OPPORTUNITY

To ensure our continued growth and unprecedented success, BVGlazing is looking for an energetic and self-motivated individual to join our Operations team. This will be a day shift position.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Performing preventative maintenance on machinery and mechanical equipment such as motors, pneumatic tools, automated cutting, forming and machining centers and related equipment.
• Ability to follow manufacturer instructions: diagrams, sketches, operations manuals and engineering specifications.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment, following all safety and operational procedures and policies.
• Communicate with Supervisors and Management advising of updates on machinery as well as any safety concerns or violations.
• Troubleshooting any issues or malfunctions, locating sources of mechanical problems by observing, listening and using devices as appropriate as they arise.
• Controlling downtime by advising ahead of time tools, machinery and equipment that require work and will be unavailable for a period of time.
• Ability to fabricate parts to repair or replace existing parts utilizing machine shop tools and equipment
• Control inventories for equipment, parts and supplies and anticipate what supplies may be needed.
• Maintain records of all maintenance, preventative, predictive and otherwise.
• Set schedules of required preventative maintenance.
• Participate as a team member, contributing to the overall goals of the department and the company in general.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• 3-5 years' experience in similar capacity
• Licensed Industrial Mechanic (is considered an asset)
• Knowledge of electrical systems, equipment controls and repair methodology
• Capable of reading and understanding operating and repair instructions
• Able to work independently or as part of a team
• Attention to detail
• Thrives in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
