The Opportunity

Red Card Sports Bar + Eatery is a European-inspired sports bar + eatery in the heart of downtown Vancouver that specializes in authentic brick oven pizza. With a dynamic team and inspired chefs, Red Card fuses together an awesome dining experience with all the thrills of your favourite sports game. We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic front-of-house professional to join our award-winning team as a Bar Manager. If you are a sports fanatic, even better

What You'll Do

  • Ensure the bar is properly stocked at all times.
  • Stay current with the global trends in new cocktail development.
  • Update seasonal beer lists.
  • Train and develop staff by showing them everything from cocktail techniques to alcohol law.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of sports and sports schedules.
  • Satisfy all customer requirements by ensuring that the service is constantly maintained at a consistently high standard with a focus on regular clientele at the bar.
  • Set a good example for the staff with regard to punctuality, attendance, attitude and hygiene.
  • Assess staff training needs and provide relevant training.
  • Ensure guest drinks are prepared and served according to company standards and as efficiently as possible.
  • Carry out the ordering of supplies as and when necessary.
  • Carry out accurate end-of-night procedures.
  • Communicate regularly and efficiently with the General Manager and Executive Chef.
  • Constantly strive to improve the standards of hygiene and service throughout the bar.
  • Entering new items into the inventory and POS systems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Have

Must have Sports knowledge

  • Previous of experience in an upscale restaurant management position and proven ability to manage and maintain the highest service standards.
  • Decision-making skills, process improvement, strategic planning, verbal communication, customer focus, management proficiency, managing profitability, and quality focus.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada to be considered.
