OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE
The Business Systems Analyst (BSA) plays a critical role in supporting Henry's business applications, ERP platform (D365), data repositories, and reporting functions. This role also will work with the organization to understand the business needs, processes, goals and requirements and translate them into solutions and technical requirements.
The BSA configures Dynamics 365 to align with business processes, documents business workflows, tests new features and enhancements, assists in troubleshooting issues, and supports reporting and data analysis needs. They contribute to improving operational efficiency by identifying opportunities for optimization, recommending new features or add-ons, and ensuring successful system adoption through training and documentation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Application & Platform Support
- Participate in the strategic planning and prioritization of features and functionality for the Henry's ERP solution (D365).
- Provide insights into business processes and help identify opportunities for system optimization and improved efficiency.
- Map business processes to D365 capabilities and document improvement opportunities.
Operational Excellence & Functional Support
- Develop use cases, functional requirements, design specifications, and testing scenarios for new or modified functionality.
- Configure, maintain, and support Dynamics 365 to meet functional business needs across Finance, Retail, Warehouse/Inventory, Order Management, and Reporting.
- Provide end-user support for D365, including troubleshooting, diagnosing issues, and coordinating fixes.
- Conduct user training and create supporting documentation for new features and process changes.
- Monitor system logs, scheduled jobs, integrations, and system performance to proactively identify errors or anomalies.
- Assist in creation, troubleshooting, and enhancement of reports in Power BI or Excel.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to collect, analyze, and validate requirements for system enhancements.
DevOps Release Management
- Participate in the release management lifecycle for D365 and related business applications.
- Coordinate with IT, developers, and vendors to schedule, validate, and deploy releases across environments.
- Assist with build validation, regression testing, and verifying release readiness.
- Maintain documentation related to release pipelines, deployment steps, and version changes.
- Support continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) processes for D365 customizations, integrations, and reporting assets.
- Track defects, enhancements, and release-related tasks through Azure DevOps or equivalent tools.
- Ensure quality and stability of deployments by adhering to change control and release governance practices.
Business Development & Innovation
- Identify and recommend new capabilities in D365 and other platforms to reduce cost, improve efficiency, or enhance service delivery.
- Research add-on applications or custom development opportunities aligned to business needs.
- Support the evaluation of new tools through prototypes, cost-benefit analyses, and stakeholder discussions.
Reporting & Administration
- Create and maintain documentation of business requirements, test plans, workflows, configurations, testing results, release notes, and others as required
- Provide project-level status updates as required.
- Collaborate in weekly IT meetings to share progress, risks, and upcoming system changes.
WHAT YOU BRING:
- Experience with D365 F&O, Commerce and Supply Chain Management Modules.
- Bachelors' or higher degree in a related field.
- Minimum 5-7 years' experience ERP administration in a retail setting
- General knowledge of ERP applications and how they work for functional areas such as Finance, Order Management, Warehouse/Inventory, Retail and Reporting.
- Ability to develop business reporting with Microsoft Power BI or Microsoft Excel
- Ability to speak both business process and technical process and translate between the two
- Demonstrated ability to work with functional leaders and team members to discover, document, design and implement business processes in an ERP application platform.
- Basic Project Management skills including the ability to build, manage and execute upon a plan – both in terms of self-management as well as working with small process improvement teams.
