Job Description
As Assistant Project Manager, you will actively support and assist the Project Manager in their day-to-day tasks to ensure that tasks and projects are delivered within time, budget and quality required. More specifically, you will:

  • Assist the Project Manager in establishing and maintaining a project plan based on client requirements and in accordance with company values and mission.
  • Support the Project Manager in contractual tasks as part of the DWP Project to ensure successful performance of contractual tasks, to include on-time deliverables, within budget and in accordance with technical requirements.
  • Work closely with all functions that interact with the project, including document control, planning, production, finance, etc.
  • Interact with Canadian Government and Royal Canadian Navy DWP Program personnel.
  • Plan and coordinate multiple activities, subcontractors and tasks to meet project schedule requirements.
  • Work in accordance with the integrated master schedule for the project.
  • Plan, manage and report on budgets, schedule and progress within the Earned Value Management environment.
  • Assist with project administration functions such as document control, risk management, KPI/Metric development and tracking, etc.

Qualifications

  • Two to five years of related experience in a production environment.
  • Understanding of Earned Value Management.
  • Proven ability to achieve high performance levels in a complex, fast-moving environment.
  • Proven experience adapting to new computer programs and systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, strong Excel skills are an asset.
  • PMP designation would be an asset.
  • Successful completion of the investigation and security clearance process required by the federal government's Contract Security Program.
