Overview
Hyatt Place Vancouver / Metrotown is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Director of Sales to lead the hotel's sales and revenue strategy. This role is ideal for a proactive hospitality professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about driving business growth, building relationships, and achieving performance goals in alignment with Hyatt brand standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve revenue, market share, and profitability goals across all segments (Corporate, Group, Leisure, and Extended Stay).
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through proactive sales calls, networking, and relationship-building within the local and regional market.
- Oversee and manage sales activities including prospecting, contracting, and client account management.
- Collaborate closely with the General Manager and Revenue Management team to optimize pricing, inventory, and promotional strategies.
- Represent the hotel at trade shows, networking events, and community partnerships to enhance the property's visibility.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients, travel partners, and meeting planners.
- Prepare and present regular sales reports, forecasts, and performance updates to ownership and management.
- Lead and mentor the sales team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and professional growth.
- Ensure alignment with Hyatt brand standards and uphold exceptional guest and client service in all interactions.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3–5 years of hotel sales leadership experience, preferably within a branded select-service or full-service environment.
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales and revenue targets.
- Strong understanding of market dynamics, competitive analysis, and revenue optimization.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in hotel sales systems (such as Envision, Opera, or equivalent) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to lead by example, motivate a team, and maintain strong internal and external relationships.
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
