What you'll be working on

  • Oversee full-cycle accounting, including commissions, banking, general ledger, A/P & A/R
  • Manage the month/quarter/year end closing and ensure accurate data is submitted to Corporate Finance
  • Participate in the Company's monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting and annual planning processes
  • Perform short and long-term financial forecasts for use with internal management.
  • Manage and oversee the full-cycle payroll process and reporting in compliance with federal requirements and provincial employment standards
  • Complete year-end related activities including T4, RL1, T4A and NR production, summaries, and year-end reconciliations ensuring compliance with CRA and Revenue Quebec regulations
  • Manage operational risk through the documentation of key processes, policies and procedures
  • Coach and mentor team members; identify employee training and development needs; participate in the hiring and employment processes for team members; set employee goals and objectives, manage employee performance; other duties as assigned, which may include special projects and initiatives

What we're looking for you to have

  • Professional accounting designation (e.g. CPA, CGA, CMA) or equivalent work experience
  • PCP certification would be an asset
  • Minimum seven (7+) years' experience in financial management
  • Proficiency in Excel, accounting software (Quickbooks, etc.)
  • Relationship management and negotiation skills to effectively represent the organization
  • Strong communication skills and problem-solving skills
  • Considerable judgment and discretion in preparing, disclosing and handling information of a confidential and sensitive nature
  • Knowledge and relevant experience with bookkeeping and basic accounting principles
  • Ability to read and interpret necessary policies and procedures as well as other programs and documents
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize and balance multiple tasks or projects
  • Ability to research, analyze, evaluate, integrate ideas and problem solve
