About the Role:
We are seeking a Senior Manager, Construction to oversee all construction and property development within the Clutch facilities portfolio. This role will play an integral part in future design and build projects as Clutch expands its manufacturing brick-and-mortar presence. You will manage multi-site projects from conception to completion, coordinate vendors and contractors, and ensure all projects meet quality, timeline, and budget requirements.
What you'll do:
Oversee construction engineering, planning, and design for Clutch reconditioning, retail, and expansion projects
Facilitate due diligence and evaluation of new facility opportunities
Prepare technical reports, specifications, and analysis to define design requirements, equipment, and services
Negotiate contracts with vendors and present formal documentation for approval
Provide site management, planning, and coordination of subcontractors and project teams
Coach and guide project teams throughout the full project lifecycle
Ensure contracted resources deliver work to meet duration and quality targets; address under-performance issues
Audit contractors to verify skills and competencies for assigned work
Communicate projected changes in resource or work demand to contractors
Establish and operate systems for scheduling, tracking, and recording contract work
Support contractors in achieving higher performance levels
Who you'll work with:
Real Estate team, including facilities management professionals
Vehicle Operations team to understand operating requirements for each manufacturing site
Leaders of all office teams to understand requirements for employee offices
External contractors, vendors, tradespeople, and suppliers
What we're looking for:
10–15 years of construction / real estate development experience
Experience managing projects $5–$20 million in size
National/multi-site project experience required
Willingness to travel and be present on site
Proven experience in new builds and enhancement of existing warehouses/logistics buildings
Knowledge of technical/engineering operations and construction markets in Canadian provinces
Ability to translate business needs into strategic, actionable construction solutions
Project management experience from design through implementation and operation
Knowledge of budgeting, finance principles, and cost tracking
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to present to senior leadership
Strong organizational, leadership, and decision-making skills
Knowledge of OH&S safety standards, labor safety, and environmental regulations
Proficiency with technology – Google Office Suite, project management tools, instant messaging
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Engineering, Architecture, or relevant field
Professional certification (e.g., CFM) and personal tools are a plus
