Our client

A well-established boutique law firm in Toronto is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its team on a full-time, permanent basis within the firm's controllership functions.

The Role

The Senior Accountant will manage the complete accounting cycle and financial analysis, including month-end journal entries, intercompany transactions, and the preparation of financial statements (P&L and balance sheet). Completing balance sheet reconciliations and posting adjusting entries as needed. Processing vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner. Performing cash flow analysis and ensuring appropriate funds are maintained in bank accounts. Preparing and filing HST/PST tax returns in compliance with regulations. Supporting the year-end process, including posting adjusting entries, preparing audit working papers, and related analytics. Managing trust accounts and client funds while ensuring regulatory compliance with legal industry standards.

The Ideal Candidate will have:

  • 4+ years of full-cycle accounting experience in a law firm
  • Familiarity with handling trust accounts, client funds, and regulatory compliance within the legal industry
  • Strong technical accounting skills and keen attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Experience with PCLaw
  • Ability to work effectively in a 100% on-site environment in Toronto
