Dog Daycare Attendant (Part Time Afternoons)

Shift: Monday to Friday, 4:00pm to 8:00pm

Overview

Aunt Lucy's Doggy Daycare and Pet Hotel is looking to add two energetic, end-of-day superstars to our afternoon team. This role focuses on guiding dogs through the last stretch of their day with safety, structure, and fun. If you enjoy working with animals and providing exceptional care to both pups and their humans, this spot on our team may be perfect for you.

Duties

  • Supervise and interact with dogs during afternoon play, ensuring safe and positive group dynamics.
  • Keep the facility clean and sanitary, tending to both indoor and outdoor areas.
  • Offer fresh water, feed when needed, and administer medications as directed.
  • Observe behaviour and intervene when appropriate to prevent conflicts or accidents.
  • Communicate clearly with owners regarding behaviour, needs, or any concerns.
  • Assist with lifting supplies or supporting larger dogs as required.
  • Participate in training sessions to continue developing handling and customer-service skills.

Skills & Qualities

  • Strong customer-service skills when interacting with pet owners.
  • Comfortable with heavy lifting while maintaining safety for yourself and the dogs.
  • Excellent communication skills to relay accurate information.
  • A true love for animals and an understanding of canine behaviour and body language.
  • Team-oriented mindset to support smooth end-of-day operations.
  • High attention to detail to accurately record information for each dog.
