We need a Regional Program Director, Rail and Transit who is versatile, and who possesses exceptional communication, analytical and management skills. In this role you will lead a large team of professionals across multiple offices in the design of multi-million-dollar projects, will take a leadership role in developing and executing our business plan, and will oversee, manage, and build our rail and transit engineering teams and portfolio of clients within the region.

Responsibilities:
- Act as a Project Manager and/or Team leader on relevant projects
- Lead, grow and develop our rail and transit teams.
- Manage, coach, motivate and provide leadership for staff to provide high-quality services and innovative solutions to complex infrastructure design challenges involving multiple stakeholders.
- Lead and oversee the preparation of technical reports and documentation of activity for clients promoting technical excellence and quality assurance of deliverables.
- Provide effective and efficient management of relevant day-to-day operations, including scheduling, assigning, and reviewing work to achieve project objectives and outcome measures.
- Assist in business development activities and undertake leadership roles in proposal preparation including assistance in developing project methodology, work programs, schedules, and budgets.
- Maintain an awareness of trends, developments and advancements in relevant fields and broader industry to retain technical competency and provide state-of-the-art services and advice to our clients.
- Act as Parsons' representative with clients and selected subcontractors during project execution.
- Collaborate with Business Development to market and secure additional work with provincial, regional, and municipal clients.
- Participate in negotiations with regulatory agencies and in public meetings in support of clients.
- Establish the program requirements for all areas of the project and monitors the draft and final deliverables for adherence to these criteria.
- Work with other managers, project engineers, and discipline leads to develop budgets, schedules, and plans for the various elements of a project.
- Ensure that the project meets or exceeds goals established in these plans.
- Work with the key project individual to devise and execute actions plans to rectify potential cost overruns or delays, or to accommodate significant changes to the scope of work. Advises the client and company management of any such changes.
- Promote technical and commercial excellence on the project through application of Quality Assurance processes.
- Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or related field)
- Must be Registered as a Professional Engineer in Ontario.
- 12+ years of relevant technical experience, including 5 years of successful technical leadership and project management experience with TTC and Metrolinx
- Demonstrated ability and experience in training, mentoring, motivating, leading, and supervising a team of highly qualified professional staff.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills.
- Applied knowledge of published standards and guidelines from provincial and municipal governments and associations.
- Excellent understanding of relevant rail and transit engineering issues and stakeholders' requirements.
- Proficient in the application of specialized engineering and assessments software.
- Thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations are required.
- Must also possess a thorough knowledge of current technology and the capabilities and efficiencies of specific engineering software for use in completing engineering assignments.
