Overview
We are currently looking for someone to join our team in the role of Regional Director, Patient Care and Experience. This position will support our Central Region with Hybrid working options available.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), the Regional Director of Patient Care and Experience provides strategic and operational leadership and direction to a team of Directors and/or Operations Managers to maximize operational and patient/caregiver experience and outcomes. The Regional Director utilizes a business growth mindset, with a primary focus on patient experience and outcomes, to operationalize, optimize, and promote efficient, integrated, and patient-focused care delivery services. The Regional Director drives consistency of operational, clinical, and business best practices within the region, and works in collaboration with other peers and partners to establish, support, and spread standardization of operations across regions that promote consistently positive patient experience and outcomes, no matter where they reside

What The Role Involves
- Provide senior-level leadership to an identified region that drives operational excellence and aligns with the organization's strategic priorities
- As part of the organization's broader Senior Leadership team, participates and informs strategic planning, supports the translation of strategic priorities into meaningful operational plans that involve local regional leaders, the patient and family voice, staff, and other key stakeholders
- Provide tools, resources, and direction for success and set operational standards, goals, and expectations that are consistent within the region and across the province
- Support the labour relations strategy process for unionized accounts, interacting with representatives and administering fair policy and procedures during negotiations.
- Develop and foster key community relations, including but not limited to OHatHome, OHTs, industry partners, other health focused organizations, etc. within the respective region to maximize business development opportunities and partnerships
- Represent the organization to various audiences across the region, province, and beyond, within the healthcare space, to advance the organization's strategic priorities and promote CarePartners' brand
- Promote the strategic direction and culture within the region to align with the direction and culture of the organization
- Develop new programs and partnerships, expand on current programs and partnerships, and identify opportunities for new funding or increases to existing funding that meet community and population health needs that are financially sustainable
- Oversee the negotiation of service/contract agreements in consultation with the appropriate corporate representative(s)
- Liaise with "traditional" funder(s) for contract monitoring and development of new services and in collaboration with other internal departments, seek opportunities for business growth beyond conventional/historical sources
- Recognize and develop leadership potential within the region by identifying or providing training and/or succession opportunities for growth and development
- Attract, develop, and retain people that align with CarePartners' core values; provide a safe, inclusive, supportive work environment with a high degree of accountability to patients, caregivers, and communities served
- Participate in collective bargaining planning and or sessions as required
- In collaboration with Finance and other Shared Services, formulate and develop budgets with financial objectives and plans, and works proactively to address opportunities and risks
- Prioritize, plan, and implement initiatives that are in alignment with Quintuple Aim principles including optimization of patient experience and outcomes, staff experience, financial health and sustainability, health equity, and population health.

- Regular work day requires travel throughout the service delivery area, occasional travel beyond regional area may be required
- Responsible for the regional oversight of operational performance including but not limited to clinical performance, patient safety, staff experience, and compliance with contract and quality standards (e.g. Accreditation Canada) Collaborate with internal and external partners, including patients and caregivers, and frontline teams to identify opportunities for improvement in care delivery and operational processes.
- Utilize data analytics, performance dashboards, and benchmarking to drive measurable improvements in outcomes, efficiency, and patient experience.
- Ensure regional readiness for quality audits, accreditation, and regulatory reviews
- In collaboration with the Quality and Analytics internal partners, mentor and develop local team capacity in quality improvement
- Understand, communicate and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) and regularly report outcomes to external funder(s) and CarePartners' executive leadership
- Promote a culture of safety and accountability, ensuring integration of evidence-based practices into clinical and operational workflows.
- Partner with Quality and Data Analytics teams to enhance quality measurement and reporting tools.
- Develop and implement operational plans that strengthen patient safety culture, reduce preventable harm, and align with organizational and system-level priorities.
- Supports and participates in investigations and root cause analyses (RCA) of patient safety incidents, ensuring timely reporting, learning, and corrective action.
- Ensure compliance with regional and provincial patient safety reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with operational leaders to integrate safety practices into daily workflows and ensure adherence to safety standards, accreditation requirements, and quality frameworks.
- Analyze and interpret safety data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement; present findings to leadership, committees, and governing bodies.
- Support the development and implementation of education and training programs in patient safety and risk management for staff, physicians, and partners.
- Work closely with quality improvement teams to ensure that patient safety initiatives are aligned with broader quality goals and population health objectives.
- Serve as a key liaison with regulatory and accreditation bodies to ensure organizational compliance and readiness.
- Promote a just culture that encourages open reporting, learning, and accountability.
- In collaboration with CarePartners' Occupational Health and Safety team, promote a safe and healthy work environment for staff in all day-to-day activities
What You Bring
- Demonstrate 7+ years of related senior leadership experience in the health care sector. Experience in home and community care is considered an asset
- Degree in Health, Gerontology, Business, or Social Services.
- Regulated health profession designation (i.e. RN) is considered an asset
- Experience managing and leading multiple sites in complex environments (union and non-union);
- Knowledge and experience in leading integrated teams that include different professional disciplines including Personal Support, Nursing, Therapy etc.; foster integrative thinking within and outside portfolio
- Possess strong leadership abilities and interpersonal skills with a high degree of political acuity, diplomacy, and professionalism
- Strong mentorship and coaching skills to support leadership growth and development within the regional teams
- Accountable for own professional growth, including self-reflection, adaptability, and willingness to cultivate and support a healthy work environment
- Experience and competence in building and nurturing professional relationships and coalitions with key partners, both internal and external Strong business acumen with a growth mindset, including an ability to seek, grow, implement, and sustain new opportunities to expand the region's care delivery footprint
- Ability to have consistent physical presence within the region's branches; preference will be given to candidates who live and/or are willing to re-locate to the region
- Proven financial management skills within a comparable size business portfolio.
- Data literacy skills that advance operational optimization including a focus on quality outcomes and performance
- Commitment to customer service, including involving patients and caregivers as partners in care
- Commitment to innovation to solve operational challenges; an understanding of change management principles to support positive and sustained change
- Computer literacy, including effective workings skills in MS Office is required
- Valid driver's license, own vehicle and appropriate insurance
