As Director, Regional Operations, you serve as a strategic partner to the Region Head, enabling the execution of business priorities and ensuring operational excellence. You connect strategy to action, coordinate across teams, and provide insights that drive performance, governance, and risk management. This role is central to enabling leadership effectiveness, fostering collaboration, and helping hold leaders accountable for delivering on business and financial goals.


Key Accountabilities
 

Strategic Enablement & Execution

  • Translate regional, segment, and enterprise strategies into actionable plans, ensuring alignment across business lines.
  • Anticipate challenges, identify opportunities, and take initiative to drive solutions with minimal direction.
  • Gather insights, analyze data, and make recommendations that inform decisions and improve outcomes.
  • Lead planning cycles, business reviews, and executive communications that support decision-making.

Leadership Support, Collaboration & Accountability

  • Act as a central coordination point for the Region Head, aligning internal stakeholders and priorities.
  • Foster collaboration across business lines to ensure consistent execution and shared ownership of outcomes.
  • Support the Region Head in tracking commitments and holding leaders accountable for delivering on strategic objectives.
  • Influence others through strong relationships, informal leadership, and a deep understanding of business drivers.

Governance & Risk Oversight

  • Ensure compliance with operational, audit, and regulatory standards.
  • Support risk management practices and reporting processes across the region.
  • Lead change management and communications strategies to support regional initiatives.

Operational Excellence

  • Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and client experience.
  • Leverage data and insights to inform decisions and optimize regional performance.
  • Manage budgets, reporting, and resource planning to support strategic execution.

What You Bring

  • 7+ years of experience in financial services, operations, or strategic planning.
  • Strategic mindset with strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proven ability to influence across levels, lead through ambiguity, and execute independently.
  • Expertise in performance tracking, governance, and change management.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills in a matrixed environment.

Salary:

$86, $160,

Pay Type:

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group's expected target for the first year in this position.
