Montreal, Quebec, Canada The Master Group Full time

Master, for over 70 years

We've been the HVAC-R leader and one of Canada's Best Managed Companies since 2010. As the country's leading private HVAC-R distributor, we have over 1,400 active employees, operating in more than 55 branches and 3 distribution centers from British Columbia to the Atlantic provinces, as well as 30 branches in the United States.

It's good to work with us

At Master, we offer you a dynamic, stimulating and fun environment. With a firm belief in healthy, open communications, we take a hands-on approach with all our employees. Teamwork is an integral part of our values, and it's through teamwork that we achieve our greatest successes.

The Technical Sales Director will serve as the key resource for the Eastern Business Solutions group on high-tech projects, ensuring the review of concepts and products, as well as training teams—particularly those with less experience—on our product lines and on key topics such as decarbonization and energy management. This role will play a strategic part in collaboration with Stéphane Laroche to develop a coordinated approach across relational, technological, and conceptual dimensions, while ensuring the quality of projects identified as complex or high-risk.

In addition to supporting sales teams across four regions with technical advice, the position will involve participation in professional events and forums such as ASHRAE and contribution to DVIC activities, including initiatives like "lunch and learn." The role requires occasional travel to various Groupe Master locations in Eastern Canada and to certain suppliers. While based at 451 Lebeau Boulevard, St-Laurent, the position offers the flexibility of remote work.

What you will accomplish with us:

  • Provide high-level conceptual expertise for HVAC projects.
  • Guide sales teams toward the best technological solutions, particularly for decarbonization and complex products.
  • Train and develop the technical knowledge of sales teams, especially new engineers, on products and technologies.
  • Strengthen strategic relationships with key suppliers in collaboration with product management, focusing on decarbonization solutions.
  • Define and align product strategies by territory with sales objectives and the company's growth plans.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to align their expectations with regional sales strategies.
  • Analyze business opportunities and optimize mechanical concepts to support sales.
  • Act as a strong link between sales teams and product management to ensure strategic alignment.
  • Monitor competitive product positioning, anticipate emerging technologies, and ensure optimal market positioning.
  • Work in synergy with the Strategic Director to maintain a coordinated approach.

What You Bring to Our Team:

  • Collaborative leadership and ability to mobilize teams.
  • Impactful communication with confidence in presenting to diverse audiences.
  • Customer-focused mindset and agility in problem-solving.
  • Commercial influence and strong persuasion skills.
  • Advanced technical expertise with continuous monitoring of innovations.
  • Autonomy, organizational skills, and initiative to drive results.
  • Resilience and speed under pressure, ensuring quality and timely execution.
  • Emotional intelligence, diplomacy, and political savvy to build lasting relationships.

Competitive Benefits: In addition to a rewarding career within our team, we offer

  • Medical and dental coverage from day one, along with short and long-term disability protection
  • Contribution to a collective registered retirement savings plan upon starting your role.
  • Wellness spending account
  • An employee assistance program including psychological, financial, and legal support.
  • Access to telemedicine from the beginning of your employment.
  • Reimbursement of professional association membership fees.
  • Early vacation program.
  • Flexible remote work policy
