Melting/Metallurgical Technician

Workstation: The Melting/Pouring Department is responsible for preparing the metal for pouring, analyzing samples, completing pour reports, and creating test bars for tensile tests.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Prepare the metal to pour into the mold.
· Perform metal analysis using the spectrometer machine.
· Test melt quality.
· Complete daily furnace heat and pour report.
· Facilitate the pouring of molten metal into molds, observing exact pouring techniques to achieve the Puhakka standard.
· Make the test bars for tensile tests.
· Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the work area.
Requirements:
· This is a hands-on role, not a lab/office position. Candidate must have demonstrated practical experience.
· Foundry experience an asset.
· Access to a reliable vehicle.
· Legally eligible to work in Canada.
· Must have a strong work ethic, a team-player, and have strong attention to detail.
Hours & Pay
· Mon-Fri: 6am-2:30pm (40 hours/week).
· $30 per hour, starting rate. Weekly pay.
· Health/dental benefits (after probationary period).

Pay: From $30.00 per hour
