Role Summary:

The Lead Senior Financial Analyst (SFA) will be responsible for preparing the annual budget for the business ensuring departmental submissions are reasonable. SFA will be responsible for the accounting of transactions and will be required to have a thorough understanding of agreements with third parties.

The SFA will have strong knowledge of IFRS and will be experienced with the financial statement close process, preparing working papers, supporting the annual audit process and preparing budget and forecasting.

The Senior Financial Analyst (SFA) will support the timely and accurate preparation of the internal and external monthly, quarterly and annual Financial Statements.

Additionally, they will be responsible to provide ad hoc support and report building expertise to various levels of management and assist in financial and operational decision making. Will be the subject matter expert with regards to all aspects of financial data including but not limited to its extraction from various sources using available technologies.

Main Job Responsibilities:
Supporting the preparation of the monthly forecast for the business.Supporting the preparation of the annual budgetPrepare quarterly forecast and budget to firms holding company.Prepare, analyze and present monthly, quarterly and annual operating metrics and results for the region/stores for Canada.Provide analysis, recommendations and insights in support of retail analysis initiatives and projects as directed.Perform timely variance analysis of actual to plan, prior year and forecast.Business Partner throughout the organization to provide insights and to ensure that financial transactions are properly recorded.Identify and build financial reporting including models and templates using a documented, auditable, and logical process.Prepare monthly journal entries, account reconciliations and supporting working papers for areas designated.Support the timely preparation and submission of the financial statements for both internal and external reporting.Support continuous process improvement to the existing accounting processes and procedures to eliminate non-value added activities, reduce processing time and eliminate manual intervention.Assist in the preparation of audit schedules as required during annual audit and working with the external auditors to complete their requirements.Assist in auditing, monitoring, and improving data quality.Develop and provide quantitative solutions to complex business problems.Perform other related duties as requiredLocation:

Salary Range:

(Based on experience), plus bonus  10%

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (e.g. Business, Accounting, Economics, Commerce, etc.)3-5 years relevant work experienceCPA designation or perusing an assetStrong analytical and business process skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skillsIntermediate to advanced level of Excel including; Complex Formulas, Macros,Experience with Cognos, Hyperion, MicroStrategy, or another enterprise grade BI softwareExperience extracting and analyzing data from a data warehouse system.Some familiarity with an ERP system (e.g. MS Dynamics)Ability to manage work flow and multiple requests, while meeting deadlines and managing expectationsAbility to work both independently and in a team environment.
