POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for the Financial Accounting & Analysis in the Shawflex business segment. 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.    Prepare and entry of month end transactions into general ledger via journal vouchers. 

2.    Perform balance sheet analysis and assist Financial Controller in other month end closing processes.
3.    Maintain the Fixed Asset Database by ensuring all items entered in the general ledger for additions and disposals are recorded on the perpetual ledger and maintaining the Fixed Assets Module in IFS.
4.    Prepare and remit GST, HST, QST, and WSIB on a monthly basis.

5.    Reconcile all bank accounts and all other balance sheet accounts (Sundry Receivable, Prepaid, Accrued Liabilities, etc.) on a monthly basis.
6.    Prepare and review impact of foreign exchange on the translation of cash and intercompany accounts with Senior Financial Analyst (SFA).
7.    Perform inter-company reconciliations and assist with coding of the invoices. 

8.    Perform upload of monthly financials into Onestream, LV7 (Consolidation Software) & SharePoint.
9.    Preparation of periodical tax & insurance packages for submission to internal & external stakeholders.
10.    Assist in extracting & providing data for quarterly & annual internal & external audits.

11.    Investigate departmental financials at the request of users.
12.    Assist Finance Controller/SFA with other ad-hoc accounting and data analytical requests.
13.    Prepare & ensure appropriate process documentation.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 3 years experience in similar role within general accounting.
  • Holding a Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting - must.
  • CPA or currently in progress - preferred.
  • Previous experience in Manufacturing industry - preferred. 
  • Technical Accounting Skills – strong knowledge of GAAP/IFRS and full-cycle accounting. - Must
  • Financial Analysis – ability to analyze balance sheet accounts and variances. - Must
  • Reconciliation Skills – accurate and timely bank and account reconciliations. - Must 
  • Tax Knowledge – understanding of GST/HST/QST and other regulatory filings. - Preferred
  • ERP & Financial Systems – experience with accounting/ERP software (e.g., IFS, Onestream, SAP, Oracle) and proficiency in Excel. - Must
  • Attention to Detail & Accuracy – ensuring completeness and compliance in financial records.
  • Problem-Solving & Investigative Skills – ability to identify, research, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Time Management & Organization – managing multiple deadlines during month-end and audits.
  • Communication Skills – effectively liaising with internal teams, auditors, banks, and regulatory bodies.
  • Process Documentation – ability to create and maintain accounting process documentation.
  • Team Collaboration – working closely with finance colleagues and cross-functional departments.
  • Adaptability – flexibility to support ad-hoc requests and shifting priorities.
