Director of Engineering or Sr Engineering Manager
:

  • 5 to 7 yrs exp in an executive leadership role, 15+ yrs overall in IT
  • Preferably will come from consulting companies (large or mid-size is ok but preferably mid-size), however will take a look at people from SaaS or startups exp. They should not be boxed into only purely isolated product building roles but at some point in their career should have done some work in a consulting firm.
  • Having a technical background is a must - dev or architect and SDM prior to exec leadership role - mandatory
  • Must have a very good idea of running offshore teams of 100+, working closely with leaders from offshore teams (Tblocks offshore is around 400 in 2 locations in India) - no longer mandatory
  • May have even set up CoE's offshore from scratch - ideal - no longer mandatory
  • Fair number of offshore managers/directors reporting into this person
  • This role is less technical (no coding) and more on reviewing and approving architect's and lead's outputs, people management and managing offshore teams
  • Working with Director -PMO in execution for projects, attending requirements, tech strategy workshops and technical sessions and asking right set of questions.
  • Getting into technical discussions and solving operational problems
  • Very much client-facing, interacting with customers, VP's, C-Level and having executive management conversations
  • Working more with client relationship teams and not sitting managing 1 specific team
  • North American exp is a MUST - mandatory
  • Onsite in Vaughan M W and F - mandatory
