Project Overview

This role supports the modernization of a legacy SharePoint 2016 environment by transitioning to SharePoint Online as part of a broader Microsoft 365 (M365) initiative. The objective is to enhance collaboration, ensure long-term sustainability, and modernize existing workflows, forms, and custom components.

Scope of Work

The Power Platform Specialist will participate in the migration and modernization of SharePoint 2016 solutions to SharePoint Online. Key responsibilities include converting legacy form technologies (e.g., InfoPath, Nintex, SharePoint Designer workflows) into Power Platform-based solutions, ensuring system compatibility and scalability in a cloud environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain business applications using Power Platform tools (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI).
  • Modernize and migrate legacy SharePoint forms, workflows, and custom scripts to SharePoint Online.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
  • Integrate Power Apps with SharePoint Online, Dataverse, or other data sources as required.
  • Create clean, user-friendly interfaces and design intuitive workflows that meet user experience goals.
  • Implement Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) processes within Power Platform environments.
  • Produce detailed architectural and as-built documentation.
  • Provide training and technical guidance to business users and internal teams.
  • Ensure all work aligns with organizational standards, policies, and security protocols.

Required Experience

  • 4+ years in designing, implementing, or administering Power Platform solutions (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI).
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience with application or platform migrations (e.g., from on-prem to cloud or between platforms).
  • 4+ years troubleshooting forms and workflows (including InfoPath, Nintex, and SharePoint Designer).
  • 4+ years of experience delivering complex SharePoint solutions, including enterprise-wide content, metadata, workflows, and UI customization.
  • 2+ years developing system integrations and technical design specifications.
  • 2+ years of experience upgrading SharePoint environments (e.g., 2013 to 2016 or 2016 to Online).
  • 2+ years of experience with ShareGate for migration support.
  • 2+ years of experience managing SharePoint using Central Administration.
  • 2+ years preparing documentation for user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • 1+ year working with organizational IT/IM policies, standards, or governance frameworks.

Certifications

  • Active Microsoft certifications in relevant areas are required (e.g., Power Platform App Maker Associate, Power Apps Developer Associate).

Assets

  • Familiarity with organizational IT policies, standards, and governance systems.
  • Experience with enterprise content and collaboration platforms in public sector or regulated environments.
