POSITION OVERVIEW

RecRoot's public sector client is seeking a
Senior DevOps – Power Platform & SharePoint Specialist
to support the migration of legacy SharePoint 2016 sites to SharePoint Online and modern Power Platform solutions.

In this role, you will:

  • Modernize legacy InfoPath, Nintex Forms, and SharePoint 2010/2013 workflows to Power Apps, Power Automate, and SharePoint Online.
  • Design and develop scalable, secure, and user-centric business applications using Microsoft 365 tools.
  • Support site evaluation, migration planning, modernization, and system decommissioning.
  • Ensure alignment with Government of Alberta (GoA) IT policies, security standards, and governance frameworks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop scalable SharePoint Online solutions using
    Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI
    .
  • Convert legacy
    InfoPath, Nintex forms/workflows, SP Designer workflows, and JavaScript customizations
    to modern Power Platform solutions.
  • Integrate Power Apps with
    SharePoint Online, Dataverse, and external data sources
    .
  • Implement
    Application Lifecycle Management (ALM)
    using Power Platform pipelines.
  • Design intuitive user experiences and secure, compliant workflow automations.
  • Validate solutions against GoA security, compliance, and governance policies.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to transform business needs into technical solutions.
  • Prepare
    as-built architecture documentation and solution design artifacts
    .
  • Provide knowledge transfer, documentation, and training to internal users and support teams.
  • Support migration decisions including
    migrate, archive, or decommission
    .
  • Assist with system retirement of legacy SharePoint 2016 infrastructure post-migration.

MUST HAVE REQUIREMENTS

2+ year
– Experience working with the
Government of Alberta IT/Information Management policies, standards, and guidelines.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree
    in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field of study.
    (Mandatory)

Work Experience

  • 4+ years
    – Experience collecting requirements, analyzing, designing, or implementing
    Microsoft Power Platform
    products and services (on-premises or cloud SaaS).
  • 4+ years
    – Experience completing migrations of applications and technologies between environments (e.g., data centre to data centre, platform to platform, on-prem to cloud).
  • 2+ years
    – Experience preparing and documenting materials for
    User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
    .
  • 4+ years
    – Experience troubleshooting
    forms and workflows
    of all types.
  • 4+ years
    – Experience with complex
    SharePoint projects
    , including managed metadata, workflows, forms, and UI customizations.
  • 2+ years
    – Experience developing integrated system and technical design specifications within
    enterprise content management systems
    .
  • 2+ years
    – Experience upgrading
    Microsoft SharePoint environments
    (e.g., 2013 → 2016 or 2016 → SharePoint Online).
  • 2+ years
    – Experience using and supporting
    ShareGate
    for SharePoint migration.
  • 2+ year
    – Experience working with the
    Government of Alberta IT/Information Management policies, standards, and guidelines
    .
  • 2+ years
    – Experience using
    Central Administration
    in a SharePoint environment.
  • 2+ years
    – Experience upgrading Microsoft SharePoint environments (e.g., 2013 → 2016, 2016 → SharePoint Online).
  • 2+ years
    – Experience using and supporting
    ShareGate
    for migrations.
  • 1+ year
    – Experience with the Government of Alberta's
    IT / Information Management policies, standards, and guidelines
    .
  • 2+ years
    – Experience using
    Central Administration
    in a SharePoint environment (administration/configuration).

Professional Licenses / Certification

  • Required:
    Active Microsoft certification(s) such as
    Power Platform App Maker Associate
    ,
    Power Apps Developer Associate
    , or equivalent.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Security Requirements: May require criminal record check, Enhanced Security Clearance, and/or RCMP Top Secret Clearance (at candidate's own cost).
  • Equipment: Contractor to provide own equipment; client provides system access and credentials.
  • Interviews: Expected in November 2025.
  • Mandatory Training: FOIP, Cybersecurity, Information Management, and Respect in the Workplace (to be completed after hire).
