- Ensure all instruments, materials, and equipment are properly sterilized, organized, and readily available for procedures.
- Assist the dentist during examinations and a wide range of treatments, including preventive, restorative, surgical, prosthodontic, endodontic, and orthodontic procedures.
- Support sedation cases—from nitrous oxide to IV sedation—while prioritizing patient comfort, safety, and efficient workflow.
- Provide compassionate chairside support, clear post-operative instructions, and ongoing patient education to promote oral health and treatment compliance.
- Capture and maintain accurate digital impressions, intraoral scans, photographs, radiographs, and orthodontic records.
- Maintain thorough and up-to-date patient records (medical histories, charting, treatment plans, and progress notes) in digital systems such as Curve Dental, ensuring patients are ready for checkout before dismissal.
- Restock clinical supplies and assist with ordering as needed.
- Support front desk operations when required.
Skills
- Proficiency in dental assisting techniques and strong knowledge of dental and medical terminology.
- Solid understanding of digital dentistry workflows, including intraoral scanning (Trios, Medit, etc.), 3D printing for guides, models, or appliances, and milling in-office restorations (e.g., CEREC or similar systems).
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced clinical setting.
- Collaborative, team-oriented mindset with a commitment to excellent patient care.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and team members.
- A compassionate, patient demeanor essential for working with children in a pediatric setting.
